Some registrars use an unusually cheap first year and recover the discount later through higher renewal prices. BladeHOST does not use that model.
Your renewal uses the same fair pricing approach as registration. If registry costs change, our prices may change too, but we do not add an inflated renewal margin simply because you are already a customer.
